Description Blades – size 12, available in Cincinnati Surgical, Swann Morton, and Lance brands. Fits Size 3 Handles. Surgical blades – size 12 – small, pointed, crescent shaped blade sharpened along the inside edge of the curve. It is used for arteriotomies (surgical incision of an artery), parotid surgeries (facial salivary glands), mucosal cuts on a septoplasty (repair of nasal septum) and during cleft palate procedures.  Additionally surgeons use it for  ureterolithotomies (calculus removal by incision of the ureter) and pyelolithotomies (surgical incision of the renal pelvis of a kidney for the removal of a kidney stone – also known as a pelviolithotomy ). They are also be used within Dental surgery for raising skin flaps and for removing excess polymerised composite resin on the facial and interproximal region of the tooth during restoration procedures.  And finally sometimes it’s even used as a stitch cutter.
